Handouts in any language, read in yours, right on the page
BanDoc keeps every term from the course and picks today's words to review, so on exam day you recognise them in the language of the exam.

Calculus I, Chapter 1: Limits and Continuity
1.1 The Intuition of a Limit
Definition. Let the function f be defined near a (it need not be defined at a itself). As x approaches a with x ≠ a, if f(x) gets closer and closer to a single number L, we call L the limit of f at a and write
limx → af(x) = L
Example. Let f(x) = (x² − 1)/(x − 1). f(1) is undefined, but for x ≠ 1 we have f(x) = x + 1, so the closer x gets to 1, the closer f(x) gets to 2:
limx → 1x² − 1x − 1=limx → 1(x + 1)= 2
Figure 1.1 f is undefined at x = 1, so its graph has a hole at (1, 2).

This sample page was written by BanDoc to show how it works. It is not content from a real course. The English is a translation prepared in advance for this page.
Translating one page is not the same as finishing one course
BanDoc is for students who study from handouts in a language that is not their own: an exchange student in Taiwan, a student on a course taught in another language, a reader of a textbook in a second language. Each course gets its own term list, so the tenth handout is translated the same way as the first.
A translated page is gone
Photograph a page, translate it, close the app. Next lecture you look up the same word again.
You follow it but cannot recognise it
You understand the idea in your own language, then the exam is printed in the original language.
You don't know what to review today
Some evenings you have half an hour. It should go to the words most likely to be on the paper.
Three steps for every handout
Read
The translation sits on the original page
Upload a PDF or photograph a handout. The translation appears where the original text is, and formulas and numbers stay as they are. One tap shows the original again.
Remember
Terms go into the course's list
Specialist words from the handout are collected with their page numbers. If a translation is off, fix it once and the whole course follows your fix.
Review
A right-sized stack of cards each day
Every term becomes a review card. BanDoc lines up today's cards by how well you know them and reminds you at the time you choose. Set an exam date (Student plan) and the cards are spread evenly until that day.
Your handout stays on your device
The file is not uploaded
PDFs and photos are processed in your browser or app. BanDoc does not keep the file or the full original text on its servers.
Only the passages to translate are sent
The passages to translate (for photographed handouts, a reduced page image) go to the translation model, and the result comes back to your screen. The server keeps your terms, your review history and this month's page count.
For your own study only
BanDoc has no feature for sharing handouts or translations. Before you upload, you confirm that you may use the material to study that course.
Check your school's rules
Schools differ on AI tools. Read your school's policy and the course syllabus before you upload a handout.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Google Translate?
Google Translate gives you one page and stops. BanDoc keeps the course's terms, reuses the same translation in later handouts, and schedules your review before the exam.
What if the translation is wrong?
The original is one tap away, and formulas and numbers stay as they are. If a term is wrong, fix it once and the whole course uses your fix. This is machine translation, so check the original for work that counts.
Is my handout file uploaded?
The file stays on your device. Only the passages to translate (a reduced page image for photographed handouts) go to the translation model. The details are in the privacy policy.
Does my school allow this?
Schools and teachers set their own rules, and BanDoc cannot confirm them for you. Read your school's policy and the syllabus before you upload.
How do I pay without a credit card?
The free plan needs no card. We are choosing a payment method that works for students without credit cards and will announce it before paid plans open.
